Gillian Welch & David Rawlings - Woodland

Exploring the deep roots of Americana through haunting harmonies and masterful guitar work from one of folk music’s most revered duos.

Gillian Welch and David Rawlings might not be household names for everyone, but in the world of Americana and folk, they’re legends. The duo has been making music together for over two decades, known for their haunting harmonies and storytelling that pulls from the deep roots of American folk traditions. They’ve worked with icons like Emmylou Harris and played a big part in the revival of traditional folk music in the late ‘90s and 2000s. Their latest album, Woodland, was recorded in their own Woodland Studio in Nashville, a space they rebuilt after it was destroyed by a tornado. This album is their first collection of original songs since 2017 and serves as a reminder of why they’ve earned such a devoted following. But is it worth your time? Let’s see what the critics have to say.
