Beyond Calabasas: The Incubus Journey from Funk Metal to Mainstream in the 90s
I ended up being one of the initial people to bring them to my local hometown here, Lake Charles, La. ...(long story short) met them initially @ the well respected Grant St Music Hall; who have seen the likes of all diversities of life from Roy Orbison the Vaughan brothers Tom petty you name it and this certain night they happen to be the middle act ... In such an odd position to just Rob the show completely strip-it from the headliner and the even more awesome than them open at Shooty's Groove (think a jarring blk-trio that threw a Slayer curve all @ 1!) and that's what the main attraction twas the (bigger Only @ that time/moment) Phunk Junkees. For $5 show a great awesome phenomenal time Was indeed Had! I end up being friending everyone in the band upon their first visit to the varsity in baton rouge and proceeded to see them rapidly more than my favorite bands of all my life at that time becoming especially close to Chris Kilmore (DJ) ... Give me a holler or email me every time there was on tour in the South which was a very much after coming the first time because of all honesty I see them so much as they all agreed in a minute we party harder than all the assholes on the East coast as he put and anyone he ever met from the West that was the greatest thing he ever had down here in the South; we trumped it twice food they said π€πΌπ. For that time. This is an appointment system of a down was opening for them dial 7 and Incubus steel proceeded to become something more huge and larger all the way to the point of garnering radio airplay on their third album in the whole gist of this and that's as far as I need it fungus among us and science two totally separate walk of Life and works of art the third album you couldn't pay me to burn for you other over produced garbage talented guys they were but their engineer was just poop they turn down everything they got super soft and matured in a less than useful direction in my book and so I don't at the time when you're so out of level of hardness or a level of industrialness you don't go lesser of that you always as much or flip it and they went in reverse I had to let him go they didn't get better upon every album after that great guys two great albums just not a very good engineer situation going on there, to keep it PG and not be Uber negative you guys stay blessed and beautiful thanks for the Rant space... Never forgetting to fund we had behind baton rouge Louisiana varsity theater on the buses outside the buses inside the varsity sometimes it felt weird if we ever went to see him and a pre and post party did not happen great dudes utter π© engineer aft the 2nd drop SBT ...
