Absolutely loved this album when it came out. Gone was the pop melodic hooks, replaced by dark ambience and heavy industrial riffs.
My groove, those years for me were defined by a handful of albums, Ministry’s Filthpig, Type O’s October Rust and everything NIN.
I especially enjoyed how Perverse ended up being the one nobody else seemed to know about… I love subverted expectations, it’s the mark of a uniquely great album.
I’d add that the single for Charicature on the No More Flies sampler is my favorite recording from JJ. It presents like a preview of Perverse and is the most deeply ingrained in my brain.
I suggest checking the 1997 followup "Already" (as in "Where's the album already?") too, and of course, Doubt. Liquidizer is 1989 so that falls outside the box. London was 2001, same problem.
Weirdly, Neither of you highlighted closing track "Idiot Stare" which is a fan favorite.

I’ll have to revisit that album. Thanks for the reminder.
Excellent!

Idiot Stare was one of my favorites in my notes.
Great Album by Jesus Jones, Get A Good Thing, when you see it. Brilliant lyrics by Mike Edwards
